Myrna remained a class act her entire life. Love the picture of her with Loretta and with Edward Sutherland, who was also a personal friend of Jeanette. In fact, despite rumors to the contrary, it was as a favor to Sutherland that Jeanette did an appearance in Universal’s “Follow the Boys”, which was filmed in 1943 and released in 1944.. Sutherland directed the film and because of Jeanette’s availability, she agreed to do the cameo as herself. It was not due to any interest in joining Universal, who had a stable of soprano stars. At the time Jeanette’s main focus was on her husband’s well-being while in the service, concertizing and preparing for her Grand Opera debut. Movie making was the furthest thing from her mind.
